HDMI is evolving (again). Since its inception in 2002, HDMI has been both loved and hated by almost everyone for lots of reasons. HDMI spec 1.4 is the latest incarnation of the standard which now has been included in approx. 1 billion devices. It has evolved from a simple and secure way of sending audio and video to a display to a sophisticated way of also sending 3D video, ethernet data and Dolby DTS audio.
There's no stopping HDMI. It's the standard that we all have to get behind. Component's days are numbered.
