In an article, "Networked Entertainment Device Shipments to Exceed Core Home Network Hardware by 2011", from ehomeupgrade.com, the rate of installation of basic home networking is slowing, but the rate of more advanced networking for connected entertainment is suppose to grow.  The number of network connected entertainment devices is projected to increase from 92 million in 2007 to more than 400 million by 2011. 

Consumers are realizing that their broadband internet connection and home network are capable of so much more.  Networking companies and consumer electronics companies are bringing out more and more products to answer consumer demand and give them more uses.
