While not 'tech' related, it's important for new home construction to be aware of a new law passed by the PA state legislature that requires fire sprinklers in new homes:
| The latest update, adopted in 2009, requires sprinkler systems in all new multi-family homes (or townhouses) built after Jan. 1, 2010, and all single-family homes built after Jan. 1, 2011. |
Although being contested now on several fronts, it is law and will be enforced through building codes. It is estimated to add approximately $5,000 to the price of a new home. Firefighters are for the law, builders and realtors are not. What do you think?
