We've all heard of an interior decorator, but what about an interior techorator? For most of us, electronics are meant to be heard, but not seen, except in the case of a TV. We would like it if our cable box, receiver, security panel, computer, etc. were hidden from view and accessible only when needed. We want all the wires hidden too.
When a room is decorated, it will inevitably include some kind of technology- in-ceiling speakers, TV, remote control, thermostat and even a light switch. Some of these elements we need to see or are required to see to use. Others can be hidden away. Others need to appear when we want to use them and then disappear. And then there are times, when we actually want to see an element and leverage it in the aesthetics of a room.
The trick is knowing what to hide, what to see and when to see it. This techoration can add to the aesthetics of a room and the room's emotional appeal- aka how you feel in the room. Part of our job is to make sure that the electronics that we choose for you work in with your aesthetic requirements for the space.
